We’ve added photos of the newly installed lights on the gazebo and the new Rt. 1 entrance sign.
The entry road to River Walk now has a sign on each side. Signage on both sides of the entrance visibly marks the community for drivers in either direction on Rt. 1. This “new” sign was relocated from its previous home in front of the white birch tree at the end of the entry road. Thanks to Lynn Saltz for this idea, which accomplished the task of marking both sides of the entrance without incurring the cost for additional signage.
A number of residents have inquired about having Romano Landscaping mulch the portion of their flower beds that are not covered by the contract. I spoke to Michael Romano today and he advised me that anyone interested in paying for extra mulch should telephone his office. The phone number is 203-234-1826 and it is OK to leave a message. He also advised me that the plan is to first do the mulching of all the areas covered by the contract and then return to do any additional mulching requested by individual residents.
The revised River Walk bylaws, which were ratified by the Board of Directors at its January 16, 2020 meeting, have been officially filed and recorded with the Town of Branford. The website has therefore been updated to reflect the revised bylaws.
Mulching is scheduled to begin on Monday of next week, May 11, 2020. As a reminder, in addition to the common landscaped areas, mulching for each home will be done for the front bed, the bed on the side opposite the garage and the planting on the corner of the garage. Completion should take approximately three days but please remember that this is a project that is highly dependent upon the weather.
Here is the tentative schedule for the various applications to the lawns at River Walk. The schedule reflects the approximate week that the application is scheduled as opposed to one specific date, as the exact date is dependent upon weather and coordination with the grass cutting.
Attention: Pet owners may want to wipe the paws of your animals for 24-48 hours after the application of a fertilizer treatment.
The first application was done on April 4th: the remaining schedule is:
Early Summer Fertilizer Application: May 16th – May 23rd
Grub Control / Late Summer Fertilizer Application: July 4th – July 11th
Early Fall Fertilizer: September 6th – September 12th
Late Fall Fertilizer: November 1st – November 7th
There is also a Lime Application that will be done during the first two weeks of August
